Blast street rebuilding projects! To do accomplish this, you’ll receive access to our massive smart city data. The main part of data is about a major, ongoing rebuilding project (that’s) located on Mechelininkatu, in central Helsinki. We encourage you to go wild with your ideas – that’s what we’re looking for.
What we’ll bring
We have mentors with practical hands-on experience and know-how of the data. We provide plenty of detailed data.
Data is about Mechelinkatu, Jätkäsaari Park and Tankovainio Projects, including a lot of documentation of Each project, except for financial information. Data sets include dwg-drawings, Office365 documents, 3D BIM, drone, pdf, csv, open data from different milestones of the each project.
Problems of interest
New, open-minded and creative applications of freely chosen technology.
Use indicated data sets freely to innovate production of services supportive data solutions. It is valuable that the solution regarding the data is innovative, and useful for future infrastructure construction related projects. Main focus is the innovative data approach and the benefit for the city people.
Judge will select the winner which has most useful solution within the future infrastructure construction of the streets of Helsinki.
First Prize is 2000€ (for an enterprise related to the winners) and a possibility to introduce it more detail to city officials.
Judges can also decide additional prizes.

The challenge is organized by City of Helsinki, by two of its divisions in charge of city environment.

It could relate to real time situation, follow-up or temporary traffic arrangements. The point of view could be a person working in the project, living in the area or commuting through. For example how to minimize negative experiences or throughput of the project or how to communicate better through visualization.
